I am not a classically trained chef. In truth, the extent of my formal culinary education is relegated to the Hillcrest Junior High Home Economics department. But as a life-long artist and designer, I have always appreciated the mastery of those who can paint with an edible palette, and have long viewed cooking as an extension of my own creativity.
And while I continue to find great inspiration in the culinary masters – both new and old – the practicality of cooking for a busy family of four has helped me to hone my skill on recipes that are healthy, interesting, and accessible. The recipes you’ll find here have become a part of the love language in our home – with dishes that are conceived and refined, then road tested with some of the harshest critics a home chef will ever find… daughters.
I hope you will find some joy in my recipes and that they might become regulars at your table. At the very least, perhaps they will impress your harsh critics.
